Don's Tree Farm

Description:
In September 2008, Don and Peggy Hallowell purchased 23 acres in Greenwood, Delaware with the intention of starting a new Christmas tree farm. They planted their first 1,000 seedlings in April 2009 and will continue planting different varieties of trees each year. Since then, the farm has grown to 40 acres and now have over 3000 Christmas trees planted.

Our fields are open for "you choose we cut". (Saturday and Sunday in December) There are fresh cut Fraser Fir, Douglas Fir, and Canaan Fir for you to pick from. Trees range from 5' to 10' tall. Balled and burlap 5'-6' Norway Spruce .
The Christmas Shop offers a large selection of handmade wreaths, pine garland, centerpieces, hostess gifts, cemetery mounds and crosses. Special orders available. Santa's helpers have been busy over the summer months building a new Lionel & HO Train layout. There is a elevated "G" Scale train operating in the shop. Ready to run train sets available for purchase.

Potted evergreens for your Fall planting needs - Leyland Cypress, Emerald Green, Green Giant, and Elegantissima, Nellie Stevens Holly and Red Beauty Holly.

Hours:
Christmas Season: Starting the Friday after Thanksgiving (Black Friday) the farm will be open Thursday from 12-5 pm. Friday, Saturday and Sunday 10-5 p.m. Our fields will be open on Saturdays and Sundays in December for choose and cut (weather permitting)

Don's Tree Farm also offers wholesale Christmas trees along with pre cut Fraser, Canaan, Douglas fir.

Since Christmas is a family tradition, the Hallowell Family has the tradition of giving a free handmade Christmas ornament with the purchase of a Christmas tree while supplies last.

Help Us to Help Others by donating a new hat, scarf or mitten to our Mitten Tree. Items are distributed locally to schools, the Boys and Girls Club of DE and other local charities in association with Georgetown Presbyterian Church.
